I'm loving the fact that people (OK, the Pike family!) is signing up before we've officially launched the new season!  Good to see you, chaps, that's the winning attitude we like!  Please forgive any pages that weirdly change or don't work.  I am tweaking away at making everything as close to perfect as I can manage.

Hmmm I don't like progress, where is the area I put in loads of xxxxx's where the ball should be?

Dear tPs.  Will we still be able to click on our fellow punters' names and find out all their deepest secrets?  I clicked on the names on the League table and nothing happened; which was hardly surprising as they weren't clickable.  Doh!  Thanks everso…

Good question… it may be that if people want us to we could add extra stuff on to the profiles on the new site. They are controlled a bit by WordPress, but we'll take a look and see what is possible!

Morning Richie. Morning everyone.

I am rather still in Cricket mode to be too diverted by the start of the football season. However I made the effort when in Dublin at the weekend to find a bar that was showing final score (interest in English football in the Republic seldom pervades beyond the premier league as you would imagine, so finding somewhere showing final score rather than the Arsenal pre-season friendly in Poland was something of a challenge). Anyway we finally managed to find a suitable pub which was showing the BBC final score. On ordering a pint (not Guinness, no) the goalscorer came through for Brighton's second and my heart sunk. Minutes later the glad tidings of Champagne Charlie Austin's goal to make it 1-2 came through. And then five minutes later on the rotating scores by league tables on the left of the main studio picture and in the scrolling scores below the picture it confidently announced the score to be 2-2. The cheer that followed was enough to bring curious stares from the gathered Leprechaun fanciers, but as I waited agonisingly for the details of the scorer of the equaliser to appear it became increasingly evident that there must have been a glitch somewhere in the bowels of the beeb.

I am in my right to sue the corporation for mental cruelty, or at least demand a rebate on my TV liscence?

It was painful. I was in the Town End, Stef was wedged by a fat woman with many many warts and me wedged by a BO clouded Swindon die hard who rocked back and fore in an alarming manner. Swindon were not at the races on Saturday, Brighton were not great but looked strong in midfield and defence. Swindon had nothing in midfield, Prutton and Douglas are too similar, tough midfielders but limited creativity. Ferry made things look better so I hope he cements a 1st choice spot. Ball is too small and skinny and gets knocked off the ball too easily. We need a decent winger and then maybe Ball is better suited up front with Austin. Pericard was a joke and Dossevi looked decent enough for the 1st half.

Should beat the Orient on Tuesday and have a great League Cup run!

The cricket club where everyone parks now open their bar before and after kick off, good prices and nice atmosphere.

Best of luck to one and all, even the Kopites, for the season ahead.

Welcome Ginginho!

That's a very charitable new-season sentiment.  I say the same:  Good luck to all – except every other team in League One – for the season ahead!
