Not a suggestion exactly, but more a cry for help to understand your new site Yell!

How do I get to see everyone else's predictions once the games are in progress?

Can I message people individually any more?

Should these not be possible to do on your new 'improved' format, then you can consider them suggestions now!

Thanks, Alastair

Once the games are in progress then you can see everyone else's predictions by going to In Play in the Stats menu.  You can fill the current scores in if you want, but otherwise just click through and you'll see them all there.

(NB, there's a problem with In Play at the moment which we're working on, but you can still see everyone's predictions.)

As for sending personal messages, I believe this new forum allows that, although I'm not 100% sure how yet!  I'll let you know.

Rob.

I've just sent you a personal message (or a PM, as we trendies call them nowadays) but I'm guessing you won't know that it's been sent until you sort out the threads (!) of this rather baffling new system. The old one wasn't broke was it?

PM? Trendy? Next you'll be wearing open necked shirts to the pub and calling everyone a top notch geeze.

I have a query, tPs.

Can we change our photos on the forum? You seem to be able to, but none of us punters seem to be able to work out how to do it…

If you click on Profile – in the top right corner of the forum – then Select Your Avatar and that brings up an option to Upload An Avatar.

Thanks Steve, beat me to it!

Also, you'll all notice that there's a poll to see what people think of this new style forum.  Please do let us know what you think, whether it be positive, negative or don't-really-care-either-way.

Ah, I was clicking on Profile in the top left, instead of the top right…

Something you wrote on the home page about doubling the prize money got me thinking, tps. What about a drawn doubles cup competition?

I know it might be a bit annoying if you get drawn with someone who doesn't submit, but that's the luck of the draw.

Maybe you could introduce a new element to make it closer – instead of the winning duo being decided by combined points, you could go on combined CORRECT RESULTS for that week, perhaps with combined correct scores the tiebreaker. If the teams are still level, then you can go on combined points.

In fact, taking it one step further, you could introduce an FA Cup style draw using the Play for Your Club teams. e.g. If Chelsea draw Swindon in the first round then you divide the total number of correct results predicted that week by fans of that team by the number of fans to predict that week. So if five Chelsea fans get 28 correct results and six Swindon fans get 34 correct results, then Swindon win 5.67-5.6, and Swindon go through to the next round…

Forgive me, nbs, but what is drawn doubles?  Presumably it's the same as the cup but played in fours with a random pair playing a different random pair?  If that's what you mean, it sounds very interesting.  Mind you, it sounds interesting even if it wasn't what you meant…

Sorry Rob, drawn doubles just means randomly selected doubles pairs playing each other in knockout format – an old snooker term of mine (as opposed to chosen doubles where players choose their playing partner).

But I actually think the Play for Your Club cup idea would probably generate more interest.

It's a shame we didn't get any Play for your Club-esque data in the sign up this season!  Interesting ideas though, nbs.  Considering the cup doesn't start until the new year we do have a gap to fill.  Ian and I shall discuss – thanks!

Edit: Never mind, someone had removed the Blackburn v Arsenal score in the small time it took me to get to the bottom of the page and find me so it seemed like it wasn't working.
